The Science of Kissing

So, as I'm sure many pre-published authors often do, (and I consider myself pre-published when it comes to YA. I have to come by it honestly just like any other writer who hasn't published a YA yet) I often ask myself why would anyone want to read a book like Kiss Virgin? The thing that worries me most is that my premise might seem far-fetched to some. I think it makes sense, but then again, I wrote the book. So I'm a little biased.

In any case, I was extremely excited to come across this book, The Science of Kissing. I haven't read it yet, but it sounds fascinating. It's non-fiction written by a biologist. To sum it up very loosely, it asks the question, Just what makes kissing so special? That's interesting because that very question was one of the things that sparked my interest in writing Kiss Virgin. So, today, I'm a little less neurotic about my WIP. Which helps. Because, while I won't say much about it on the blog for many reasons, I will will say this: I am currently in query purgatory.

Now, off to read and write and maybe even do a little cleaning. And at some point, I have to see if I can find The Science of Kissing at the library. It almost seems like fate that I came across this book. In all, this is a very good day. I feel a little less like my book idea is totally insane.

Have you came across Twenty Boy Summer. I haven't read it yet, but the author came up with the idea for that book from a summer spent kissing.

And I would read Kiss Virgin based on the title alone. Doesn't sound far fetched to me.

Thanks, Sharde!

Twenty Boy Summer is on my TBR list. That's good to know about it! I'll have to move it up on the list...
